Nearing the end of a seasonal job at Verus to lend a hand during the busy spring tax time, Theresa put a bug in our ear, noting she would be looking for part-time work come fall. It didn’t take long for us to call back and offer her a more permanent role.

At Verus, Theresa assists individuals and couples who are nearing or entering retirement age — that moment when it’s time to start putting long-term plans into action and begin drawing from investment portfolios.

During her prior career in banking, she enjoyed the customer-facing aspects of the business, and is happy to be back in front of clients at Verus. “Verus has been a great fit for me. It’s such a warm and friendly place, and everyone works together so well,” Theresa says. “We all have questions here from time to time, and I really appreciate the willingness of others to help out. It’s just a wonderful environment.”

She enjoys the work-life balance offered by the firm, with a position that gives her the flexibility to send time with her family.

Theresa is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and earned a degree in business administration. She and her husband Darrell were high school and college sweethearts. On the weekends, you’ll find the Hanover County family in the outdoors – perhaps fishing or gardening. They are also actively involved in worship and numerous activities at Cool Spring Baptist Church.
